JerryOke is provided by Jerome Nowosatko, an individual. This policy describes how the JerryOke iPhone app handles information.
What JerryOke is
JerryOke is a local-first karaoke companion. It helps you keep song lists and find karaoke venues. It does not require an account or login.
Information stored on your iPhone
Song lists and other app data you create are stored on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to a JerryOke server, and this version of the app does not create a JerryOke account.
If you have iCloud enabled, those catalogs may also sync or be included in an Apple iCloud backup, as described below. You may also choose to write an optional catalog backup file to iCloud Drive.
If you delete JerryOke, locally stored lists and app data are deleted with the app. Any iCloud backup or iCloud Drive file remains under your Apple account until you remove it.
iCloud
If iCloud is enabled on your device, your JerryOke catalogs may sync or be backed up through Apple iCloud. JerryOke does not operate its own account system or server. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s privacy practices.
This version can also write an optional catalog backup file to iCloud Drive Documents at JerryOke/catalog-export.csv. That file may include song fields you keep in the catalog, such as Title, Artist, Key, Catalog or Practice status, tags, range, and YouTube ids. The file is stored in your iCloud Drive, not in a JerryOke account.
Location
Location access is optional. If you allow When In Use location, JerryOke uses it only to help find karaoke venues.
If location is off or not granted, the map defaults to Colorado Springs.
Maps
The in-app map is provided by Apple MapKit. Apple may process map-related requests under Apple’s privacy practices.
YouTube
JerryOke can open YouTube outbound in the YouTube app or in Safari. This version does not play YouTube videos in-app, does not download videos, and does not provide lyrics.
If a YouTube Data API key is configured, JerryOke may send search queries to the YouTube Data API to find videos. Google and YouTube may process those queries under their own terms and privacy policies.
Microphone and music recognition
This version of JerryOke uses the microphone for:
- Listen — song identification with Apple ShazamKit. Audio captured for identification may be processed by Apple. JerryOke does not send this audio to a JerryOke server.
- On-device coaching that measures pitch and loudness against the musical Key you typed. This processing stays on your device. It does not send microphone audio to a JerryOke server, and it does not score your singing against YouTube audio or a licensed melody catalog.
Musical Key
In this version, musical Key is entered by you. JerryOke does not look up Key from GetSongBPM or another key-lookup service.
Analytics, tracking, and advertising
JerryOke does not include analytics, tracking, or ads.
Accounts and servers
JerryOke does not require an account or login. There is no JerryOke server. Song lists are not stored on a JerryOke server.
